A Rose's Final Moments

Posted by Knick

I found a rose on our rosebush today, needless to say I took it inside and had a blast with it.

I brought the flower inside instead of leaving it on the bush. With my macro zoom lens not being a true macro lens I needed to be 3 feet away from my subject to get a crisp focus so I needed to minimize all movement, including the slight breeze. I did my best to make this Rose's final moments glorious!

I took a few pictures of the rose dry but after being a little disappointed with the "flatness" of the pictures I decided quickly that I needed some more contrast on the flower to really make it pop. I went the the kitchen and busted out my grilling spray bottle, came back to the flower and gave it a gentle spritz and BOOM, night and day deference. I am so happy with the way all of these turned out, I am not going to post them all here but if you click here you can view my Flicker page with all of them.

Here are 3 of the pictures, one without the spray and 2 with.
